Overview MMS is the global standard used for the delivery of multimedia content which may contain just images or just sound clips or a combination of, images, sound clips and texts. As with CPA SMS, CPA MMS adheres to the global telecommunications standard for the delivery of MMS. Only MMS compatible mobile phones may receive or send MMS content.
This service is for Content Providers who would like to charge DiGi's mobile customers for sending or receiving of multimedia content.
Push and Pull Services CPA Premium MMS services can be divided into two categories:
Pull services: The user sends a mobile originated message (MO) to the short-code of the content provider and subsequently receives the mobile terminated message (MT) that contains the content; and
Push services: The user sends an MO to request for content to be sent by the content provider on a regular basis or at a special time or event. The content provider then "pushes" the messages (MT) to the subscriber as specified in the MO.
Premium-rated MMS For both the push and pull categories, the MT is priced at a premium rate
(set by the content provider), and it is the MT-revenue that is shared
between the content provider and DiGi. Please take a look at the
Rates and Charges section for more
information on the applicable charges, rate categories and revenue share values.
Short-codes To get access to the content provider services, the DiGi subscriber will need to send the MO
to the content provider's 5-digit short-code (3xxxx). Each content provider can have one or several
5-digit short-codes. DiGi will assign a short-code (36xxx) to
the content provider that can be used across other mobile operators in Malaysia. Likewise, short-codes
assigned by other mobile operators can be used with DiGi as well. A short code used by a
Content Provider for CPA Premium SMS will be retained for the same Content Provider for its use
on the CPA Premium MMS service. Thus, Premium MMS will utilise the same 3xxxx series short
codes as CPA Premium SMS.
