After a three-month nationwide search, and one month's deliberation by a panel of judges, DiGi announced on February 24, 2006, its five new Amazing Malaysians for the year: a sustainable development activist, a university lecturer, an ex-journalist, a researcher and an architect.
As with 2005, the Amazing Malaysians this year will conduct projects focusing on the country's natural, social, cultural, art and built heritage.
The panel of judges who selected them comprised Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture, Arts & Heritage Dato' Siti Azizah Abod, Puan Sri Datin Amar Elizabeth Moggie, DiGi's CEO Morten Lundal, Digi's Head of CSR Jennifer Nelson and Managing Director of PR agency Ayesha Harben & Associates, Ayesha Harben.
