DiGi launched its corporate social responsibility programme, called DiGi Yellow Mobile, on June 15, 2002. This unique, heart-warming community programme centers around arts and culture, professionals and children, corporate life and the community, with the clear aim of creating a learning experience for
underprivileged and disabled children in the country.
The DiGi Yellow Mobile was developed around the concept of taking these special children on a journey of discovery as they indulge in the rich cultural tapestry which is their heritage. A series of workshops have been organised nationwide under this programme, each focusing on arts-based elements such as art, music, dance, drama and craft. The programme brings together some of the country's well-known artists, musicians, dancers, craftspeople and theatre personalities to teach the youngsters the various art forms which reflect Malaysia's rich cultural heritage. It is a powerful programme that captures the hearts and minds of the children by creating an environment that sparks creativity and stirs the imagination.
As the name suggests, DiGi Yellow Mobile travels all over the country, giving DiGi a nationwide presence in its commitment to giving something back to the community. It reflects DiGi's corporate brand, its mobile services and ability to be creative and innovative, not only when it comes to rolling out products and services but also in making a positive contribution to our Malaysian community nationwide.
The DiGi Yellow Mobile seeks to touch the lives of underprivileged and disabled children by:
enriching their lives by providing them with a unique learning experience.
widening their horizons on their rich cultural heritage.
educating them to appreciate the mix of cultures that exist in our Malaysian community, and the kind of heritage they have inherited.
helping them to kindle an interest in the arts and culture which may guide them towards a career choice in time to come.
bringing people of various races, cultures and working professions together in one common cause of educating the next generation on our traditions.
