Education sessions on IP were arranged for all employees on 23-26 Apr 2007 in conjunction with National IP Day (27 Apr) when it was identified as a key area of improvement. To create an IP-ready workforce, participants were provided with relevant facts and information on the various aspects of IP Rights (IPRs), including its classification such as copyright, trademark, patent, industrial design, layout design of an integrated circuit and geographical indication. They also learnt the importance of protecting those IPRs legally.
Integrity! Programme
Held in conjunction with World Anti-corruption Day (8 Dec) & National Integrity Day (4 Nov), the Integrity! Programme was organised to remind employees on the importance of upholding professional integrity in their daily work life. They were kept updated on the company's guiding principles, policies as well as DiGi values - to guide employees on how to manage ethically challenging situations.

DiGi Internship Programme
Internship programmes in DiGi are designed to help our employees share their knowledge and competence with others in line with DiGi's aim of building the mindset for giving back to the communities that we belong. These programmes range from short (3 months) to mid-term (1 year) duration, depending on the job scope with an average of 45 placements per year based on availability of internal sponsors.
One-year internship is offered to fresh graduates in DiGi's Technology Division that involves skills exposure, personal development and technical rotations. At the end of the programme, interns with strong performance and the right attitude/values are offered employment. Since implementation in 2007, it has enjoyed substantial success. Out of the 19 technology interns on board, 15 have been retained in both permanent and contract capacities.

"DiGi Meets" Programme
With the intention of creating and maintaining a creative and innovative workforce, this internal programme seeks to inform, inspire and challenge employees open their minds to new ideas, concepts and visions. They are invited to interact with interesting personalities, who share their personal philosophy and life perspective on things. A movie screening of The Corporation, based on a book of the same title by Prof. Joel Bakan, was also held to give a quick and "dirty" guide to Corporate Responsibility and how it can be abused.
Past speakers include Malaysia's celebrated artist, The late Dato' Ibrahim Hussein; classical dancer and choreographer, Ramli Ibrahim; MCA Public Services Bureau spokesperson, Datuk Michael Chong; deputy executive editor of The Star, Wong Sai Wan; and independent film-maker, Amir Muhammad.
