SKMM Mobile Advertisement Survey 2011

6% Service Tax on Prepaid Deferred
The telecommunication companies have agreed to defer the implementation of service tax, imposed on the purchases of prepaid reloads, Prepaid SIM packs, which was raised to 6% early this year. This is in response to the advice of the Prime Minister Dato' Seri Najib Tun Razak, and a subsequent request made by the Minister of Information, Communications and Culture Dato' Seri Utama Dr Rais Yatim.
The telecommunications companies have historically absorbed the levy on behalf of the customers, contributing around RM6.0 billion to the Government. At present, it is the only service where tax is subsidised by the companies, and not paid by the customers.
The Ministry of Information, Communications and Culture and Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (SKMM), in view of the industry's concession, have agreed to take up the matter to necessary levels for an amicable resolution, with relief to all parties.

DiGi Easy Prepaid revision
From 14 September 2011, Buddyz free calls and SMS time belt will be revised to 12am-6pm. Alternatively, customers can opt for Super Buddyz feature by dialing *128*1*3# to enjoy free calls & SMS 24 hours/day for only 99 sen/day.

Our DiGi website is back online!
Dear DiGi customers, we are pleased to announce that the DiGi website is up and running again! We understand that customers had been unable to access the website and its associated online services; the site is now back online and can be accessed from all Internet Service Provider (ISP) networks. DiGi® Postpaid Free Video Calls Discontinued
Effective 1 June 2011, free video calls among DiGi® Postpaid's principal to supplementary and supplementary to supplementary lines will no longer be applicable. All video calls will be charged according to the voice call tariff of your rate plan!

Service Tax Rate Announcement
As announced in the 2011 Malaysian Budget, the service tax has been increased to 6% by the Government. Effective 1 Jan 2011 onwards, the 6% service tax will be charged for new registrations, while customers registered before 1 Jan 2011 will only be charged the new service tax effective February 2011.
