DiGi is Malaysia’s most innovative company
Grabs third spot in overall ranking by regional financial daily

SHAH ALAM, 18 October 2006: A regional financial daily has named DiGi.Com Berhad as the Malaysian company most admired for Innovation, having listed it among Asia’s 200 Most Admired Companies.

The Asia 200 survey by the Wall Street Journal Asia also counted DiGi among Malaysia’s top five companies most admired for Quality.

In the overall ranking of Malaysia’s Top 10 companies, DiGi shot up to number 3 spot from number 8th in 2004 and 24th in 2003. DiGi received a mean score of 3.65, a mere .36 points away from the number one spot.

DiGi Corporate Affairs Director Tunku Alizakri RM Alias said: “This is an inspiring recognition. We are humbled and motivated as it indicates that we are on track towards becoming a mobile operator known for its simplicity, innovation and best values.”

According to the Wall Street Journal Asia, DiGi is seen as the “hip, young upstart”. “It caters to young customers with a slew of prepaid card and funky new products and services, like BubbleTalk™, a technology that allows customers to record and send talking text messages. So, it isn’t surprising readers ranked it first,” the journal said.
