1,200 DiGi employees say thank you Malaysia
Annual customer appreciation event sees DiGi setting Malaysia Book of Record for most simultaneous ‘selfies’

SHAH ALAM, 25 September 2014 - DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (“DiGi”) made its presence felt in the Klang Valley today with its annual Customer First Day celebration themed ‘#WELOVEMY’ (We Love Malaysia). Armed with warm smiles, 1,200 DiGizens flooded the streets to personally meet and thank loyal customers for being part of the DiGi family.

Joining the sea of yellow for the first time on Customer First Day was DiGi’s Chief Executive Officer Lars Norling. Lars said, “Our customers continuously inspire us to be best, and this has influenced the way we drive excellence and innovation across our business to provide the best experience for our customers. Today’s gesture of appreciation reminds us to continue nurturing a customer-focused culture in DiGi, ensuring every employee truly understands the needs of our customers, and consistently delivers on their needs and expectations.”

Customer First Day is symbolic of DiGi’s efforts to create better experiences for customers every day, and in the lead-up to this celebration, DiGizens invested time in bringing value to customers through a range of activities. These included improving network and retail services with drive tests and mystery shopper exercises, appreciating mass and corporate customers at DiGi stores and offices nationwide. Employees were motivated to delight customers in a fun way, drawing inspiration from unique, meaningful aspects of Malaysia and documenting them on a special #WELOVEMY website: www.welovemy.com.my.

The customer-centric activities culminated with today’s company-wide excursion to thank customers across the Klang Valley. And in true Internet For All style, DiGizens were seen taking ‘Selfies’ and ‘Wefies’ with customers, an inspiring way of documenting an outing with family and close friends. Other customer engagement activities included gifting DiGi Start Prepaid packs for Malaysians to experience DiGi’s brand new network, and handing out ‘Thank You’ cards, encouraging customers to share inspiring things we love about Malaysia at the #WELOVEMY website.

Always up for a fun challenge, employees also gathered at DiGi’s headquarters prior to hitting the streets to set a new Malaysia Book of Records feat with 1,175 DiGizens for the Most Number of Selfies Taken Simultaneously. DiGi will also be entering this achievement for consideration as a Guinness World Record, to be confirmed in the next few weeks.

DiGi is part of Telenor Group, one of the world’s major providers of mobile communications. ‘Customer First Day’ is a global exercise to appreciate loyal customers across 13 countries Telenor is present in, reaching 176 million customers worldwide.
