DiGi airlifts relief supplies to flood victims
Helicopters chartered to provide immediate aid to Segamat

SHAH ALAM, 21 December 2006: DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd ("DiGi") chartered helicopters to airlift emergency supplies to flood victims in Segamat today.

The company budgeted RM500,000 for relief efforts, including purchases of daily necessities, transport costs, and free airtime for affected customers.

DiGi's Strategy and Corporate Affairs Director, Tunku Alizakri RM Alias said that supplies such as dry foods, fresh water, mats and blankets will be transported by land to Tangkak tomorrow and from there, by helicopter to relief centres.

An additional trip was made today to Segamat Hospital based on their requested needs.

The helicopter had also picked up two employees stranded in Pogoh. "We place utmost importance to the safety our employees as they are our assets," said Alizakri.

The floods disrupted numerous services, including telecommunications. "Our people are working non-stop to minimise disruption in affected areas," he added. DiGi apologises to customers for any inconvenience caused.
