DiGi appoints Head of Corporate Affairs

Tunku Alizakri Raja Muhammad Alias to oversee DiGi's Legal, Regulatory, Corporate Communications, Business Development and Corporate Secretary

Shah Alam March 17 2005 - DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd has appointed Tunku Alizakri Raja Muhammad Alias to head its Corporate Affairs Division effective April 18th 2005.

With an illustrious career in strategic planning and new business development, Tunku Alizakri is well-regarded for his experience in dynamic industries such as finance, banking, law and consumer marketing. His core strengths are in the areas of formulating winning strategies to build and sharpen corporate values and competitive edge.

Commenting on his appointment, DiGi's Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Morten Lundal said: "We are very pleased to have Tunku Alizakri join us here at DiGi. His vast and aggressive experience in taking the strategic lead to implement creative communication plans, build talent and spearhead organizational synergies will contribute well to DiGi's relationship with our various stakeholders."

In his capacity as Head of Corporate Affairs, Tunku Alizakri will be tasked to drive DiGi's internal and external plans to support company goals in the areas of communications, shareholder relations, corporate profiling, government affairs and new business growth areas.

I am confident that my experience in strategy, management and business development will stand me in good stead to effectively position DiGi in achieving its medium to long term key targets and objectives." said Tunku Alizakri.

Tunku Alizakri's most recent appointment was with Malayan Banking Bhd as Vice President and Head of Maybank Group Strategic Planning (2001-2005). Aside from being the project leader for Group-level initiatives, he was also an instrumental player in the M&A bid of Bank Permata, Indonesia. He developed the international and expansion strategies for the Group, and formulated its internal plans and business principles. Prior to that, Tunku Alizakri was attached to A.T. Kearney in developing an e-commerce strategy for Asia's First B2B Internet Community.

His foray into the business world kick-started when he joined the Sime Darby Group (1996-1999), first as Corporate Planning Executive and then as Special Assistant to the CEO of the Plantations Division. He was involved in various Group level investment and strategic initiatives as well as assisting in developing business strategies for expansion and productivity enhancement.

Tunku Alizakri is trained legally as a Barrister at Law (Lincoln's Inn), with an LLB from King's College (University of London) and obtained an MBA from Cornell University.
