DiGi Brings First Mobile WiFi Device

SHAH ALAM, 4 JUNE 2010: DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd ("DiGi") today announced the availability of Mobile WiFi, the first of its kind in Malaysia. Best known as MiFi, it can have five (5) different WiFi enabled devices to connect to the Internet simultaneously via WiFi connection.

About the size of a typical mobile phone, MiFi is a portable wireless router that works in a similar way to current WiFi routers that allow users to share their mobile broadband connection. Mobile broadband users can now have their own mini WiFi hotspot on the go.

DiGi's Head of Broadband, Mohd Nazeem b. Mohd Nasir, "We are excited to bring in yet another innovative solution that is relevant and easy for our customers to use. This is one of our ways to continuously make the Internet accessible to more people while constantly delivering excellent customer experience."

"Today, WiFi feature is available on almost every device from laptops to smart phones. DiGi MiFi will be the key enabler to connect all these devices and allow internet access anytime, anywhere," he added.

DiGi has also opened MiFi for pre-booking via www.digi.com.my/broadband/mobile-broadband for two weeks. Interested customers are encouraged to pre-order their MiFi from now until 20 June, 2010 with DiGi to enjoy additional savings.
