DiGi celebrates community togetherness
GeGeRiuh carnival promises fun and excitement for all

 KUALA LUMPUR , 25 April 2007 : Malaysians can look forward to more exciting, non-stop and fun-filled activities when the DiGi GeGeRiuh carnival begins next month.

DiGi GeGeRiuh is DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd ("DiGi") engaging the community through a series of healthy lifestyle activities, including DiGi GeGeRiuh concert, extreme sports demonstration, and crime-fighting exhibition. This two-day carnival is jointly organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Royal Malaysian Police.

"We are really excited and value the partnerships with the Ministry of Youth and Sport and the Royal Malaysian Police this year. We at DiGi have always been supportive of the government's efforts in nation building and DiGi GeGeRiuh exemplifies that," said Loong Tuck Weng, DiGi's Head of Segments and Marketing.

"This is the second consecutive year that DiGi GeGeRiuh has been organised and we are determined to make it even bigger and better for our loyal customers and supporters. This year's event will be packed with more wholesome and entertaining activities as well as concerts that will delight visitors of all ages," Loong added at a press conference to announce the activities lined up for DiGi GeGeRiuh 2007.

Visitors to the carnival will have a chance to take part in rock climbing, paint ball, fustal and skateboarding. Other demonstrations include cappoiera, silat, kick-boxing and various motor sports activities. Police will have public awareness activities that include martial arts and self defence demonstrations, weapon display, helicopter stunts, police tattoos and parachute shows.

Besides the fun activities happening throughout the day, DiGi GeGeRiuh 2007 is also about great entertainment. There will be appearances and performances by Amy Search, Ella, Dayang Nurfaizah, Saiful Apek, Farahwahida, Noryn Aziz, Ruffedge and Ahli Fikir at the DiGi GeGeRiuh concert at night.

"DiGi GeGeRiuh also brings the best of Malaysian entertainment together for a night of good music and great fun. This is how we reward our customers for their support. In bringing this to our customers, we are also providing the platform to support our local artistes and enabling them to reach out and be closer to their fans in all parts of Malaysia," said Loong.

There will be opportunities for visitors to meet Malaysia's hottest celebrities up close and personal at the DiGi Superstars booth. DiGi Superstars, an exclusive local celebrity network, features Fasha Sandha, Jehan Miskin, Raja Farah, Natasha Hudson, Awal, Farid Kamil, Waheeda, Ashraf Sinclair and Zed Zaidi.

At the booth, customers can sign up to be a DiGi Superstars member to receive free entertainment news updates via SMS or subscribe, at a minimal fee, to receive DiGi Superstars SMS Diaries, exclusive ringtones, wallpapers and CallerTunes.

The DiGi GeGeRiuh carnival roadshows will be taking place in eight states starting from next month in Danga Bay,Johor (May 12-13) and moving on to Malacca, Penang, Sarawak, Sabah, Terengganu, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.
