DiGi delivers greater savings with customised plans
Making it easy, keeping it relevant for young families and youth

SHAH ALAM, 15 JULY 2009: DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd ("DiGi") today introduced market specific prepaid and postpaid plans that make it easier for its customers to enjoy best deals that are most relevant to their lifestyles.

At a media event to announce the new offerings, Albern Murty, DiGi's Head of Products and Segment Marketing, explained: "We've taken a segmented approach to differentiate ourselves in a very competitive market, listening very closely to our customers who've clearly expressed that they want more relevance and value in the products and services they need and use. We've responded by revitalizing our prepaid and postpaid plans to bring them just that."

Postpaid + prepaid together in one family plan

DG Family Plan brings an industry-first innovation by giving postpaid customers the flexibility to include up to three (3) prepaid supplementary lines in their preferred family package. Customers in the same DG Family Plan account will enjoy unlimited free calls, SMS and MMS to each other anytime, anywhere in Malaysia.

Albern added: "With DG Family Plan, we're the first to offer a comprehensive family-centric value proposition for greater savings for the entire family. The benefits of being in the same family account are now available to all family members irrespective of individual preferences for prepaid or postpaid."

DG Family Plan also offers two optional value added services for further convenience and peace of mind. DG Family Finder allows customers to automatically receive daily location alerts of their loved ones - a useful benefit for those with school-going children. Customers can also subscribe to DG Family PA Insurance for coverage of up to RM100,000 for the entire family at RM15 per month.

Completing the family proposition for DG Family Plan, customers enjoy the convenience of always staying connected even if the prepaid supplementary runs out of talktime credit. They also have better usage control with auto reload capped at RM15 per month for each prepaid line.

Even easier to enjoy lowest flat rates

The new DiGi Prepaid plan is designed for heavy users of voice and SMS. Customers who reach RM1 in domestic SMSes in any one (1) day will enjoy call rates of 12 sen per minute for calls to any network, nationwide for that day. This is three (3) times lower than the normal rate of 36 sen per minute. They can also SMS other DiGi customers at 1 sen per message.

"The RM1 target makes it even easier for our prepaid customers, especially youth and young professionals, to enjoy greater savings. It's that easy to get immediate rewards. Often promises of savings come attached with a whole lot of complicated terms and conditions before any actual savings can be realised.

With mobile internet usage on the rise, we're also bringing DiGi Prepaid customers affordable data charges at 1 sen/kb, capped at RM5 per day no matter how much they use," explained Albern.

This plan is open to existing DiGi Prepaid customers for a one-time transfer fee of RM3.

Albern concluded: "DiGi will continue to deliver the right value propositions that are directly relevant to individual market segments, making it easier for customers to enjoy affordable products and services."

As of Q1 this year, DiGi has 7.2 million subscribers with 84% in prepaid and 16% in postpaid.
