DiGi donates 10,000 DiGi Prepaid SIM Packs to Pakistan nationals

Humanitarian effort to help them stay in touch with loved ones

Kuala Lumpur, 11 October 2005 - DiGi donated 10,000 DiGi Prepaid SIM Packs to the Pakistan High Commission for distribution to Pakistan nationals in Malaysia so that they can be in touch with their loved ones back home in the aftermath of Saturday's earthquake.

A DiGi team delivered the first batch of 6,000 SIMPACKs to the High Commission this afternoon where they were received by H.E Talat Munir, Pakistan's High Commissioner to Malaysia. The balance will be distributed tomorrow.

DiGi's Corporate Affairs Director Tunku Alizakri R.M. Alias said: "Our heart goes out to the victims and their loved ones. We are deeply saddened by this and are moved to do our bit to help ease the pain and reduce worries and anxiety."

"In times like this there is a great need to stay in touch and support each other in everyway we can. We want to be able to facilitate this for people wanting to reach their loved ones back home and to offer support."

H.E Talat Munir said the high commission will use all its available communication channels including its email database to inform Pakistan nationals to collect the pre-loaded DiGi Prepaid SIM Packs.
