DiGi gives free airtime to Myanmar prepaid subscribers
Over RM300,000 worth of free airtime allocated

SHAH ALAM, 14 May 2008: Myanmar subscribers of DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd ("DiGi") were given free airtime worth over RM300,000 in total today as a gesture of support since the cyclone disaster devastated their home country.

This eligible group of prepaid subscribers has been notified and received the free over-the-air reload to their mobile phones automatically.

Tom Schnitker, DiGi's Head of Marketing said, "I can only imagine the deep fear and uncertainty the people of Myanmar here must feel - not knowing if their family and friends are safe or not. We hope this small gesture can help them in some way to stay connected."

Cyclone Nargis struck Myanmar on Saturday, 3 May 2008, leaving more than 60,000 people reported dead or missing.
