DiGi is Mobile Operator of the Year
Third award since January

SHAH ALAM, 23 June 2006 - DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd has been named the Mobile Operator of the Year, Malaysia, by a regional telecommunications publication.

DiGi Chief Marketing Officer, Chee Pok Jin, received the award from Asian Mobile News at a presentation ceremony in Singapore which was well attended by the region's top telco players on Wednesday night.

In a statement today, Chee said: "We dedicate this award to all our customers for making it happen. For DiGi, this is wonderful recognition of DiGi as Malaysia's fastest growing mobile operator."

This the third award for DiGi this year. Frost & Sullivan Malaysia recently named DiGi the Mobile Data Service Provider of the Year.

DiGi was also named the Best Prepaid Telco Service Provider by IT publications PC.Com.

Since January, DiGi has been trailblazing with innovative products and services that include:

  • New DiGi Business Plan for greater cost-efficiency and operational efficiency;
  • Auto-reducing rates for GPRS charges and sharing supplementary SIM for data users;
  • RM149 unlimited surfing for prepaid customers.
  • 3MOG for cross-platform online games; and
  • Gallery-Without-Walls, a virtual mobile digital art gallery with local and international content.
