DiGi Live K-pop 2AM Showcase marks band's first performance in Malaysia
2AM set to melt fans' hearts during their one-hour showcase

KUALA LUMPUR, 19 MAY 2011: DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd ("DiGi") is once again offering their customers an experience not-to-be-missed with top Korean act 2AM to perform live at their first ever Malaysian showcase on 21 May. In collaboration with Universal Music Malaysia, the exclusive DiGi Live K-pop 2AM Showcase was made possible due to overwhelming demand from fans who had made their voices heard on the DiGi Youths Facebook page.

It all started with a simple challenge posted to DiGi Youths Facebook fans. If the target of 147,000 fans for the Facebook page was reached, DiGi would arrange for 2AM to perform in Malaysia for the first time. Within four days, the target was reached and arrangements were made to make that wish possible.

Francis Chang, DiGi's Head of CRM & Analytics, said, "We always try to stay relevant by listening to our customers as much as possible. We are happy that we could fulfill their wishes once again as the overwhelming response received this time clearly proves that Malaysians continue to find K-pop fascinating, especially amongst youths."

"Understanding that music appeals to youths as it transcends language, geography, culture and gender, we at DiGi have introduced DiGiMusic Pluz feature as part of DiGi Easy Prepaid. This feature provides unique music experiences for fans of all types of music genres, including access to live performances by their favourite artistes. Today, DiGi's collaboration with Universal Music has offered us another exclusive opportunity to reward our customers who are 2AM fans," he added.

Loan Cheong, General Manager of Universal Music Malaysia, said, "DiGi has always been known for providing unique experiences to their customers and this time around, they have successfully leverage on a social media platform, namely Facebook, to build support in bringing 2AM to Malaysia for the first time. There is much anticipation and excitement surrounding this exclusive showcase as we have built in unique artiste interactions for some lucky hard-core fans of 2AM to interact personally with the band members."

The boys of 2AM will have a packed schedule the minute they touched down in Malaysia. Apart from the usual rounds of interviews, they will be trying out some local cuisine. At the showcase, they are set to promote their latest album, "Saint o'Clock" with songs like Even If I Die, I Can't Let You Go, You Wouldn't Answer My Calls and Like Crazy.

DiGi Live K-pop 2AM showcase is scheduled for 6.00pm at Wisma MCA in Jalan Ampang Kuala Lumpur on 21 May. Exclusive backstage Meet & Greet passes were also given away to 60 qualified DiGi customers who were amongst fans that purchased the 2AM CallerTunesâ„¢ bundle.

Passes for the 2AM showcase were first opened for pre-booking on 17 April 2011 at 1Utama, which saw 434 reservation coupons of the showcase passes being snapped up within 4 hours. To secure the showcase passes, prepaid and postpaid customers need to reload RM50 via flexi e-load and activate DiGiMusic Pluz at RM5 to get ONE showcase pass per mobile number.
