Digi seeks local developers to come up with innovative mobile apps
An opportunity to be DigiCFC 7 grand prize winner and walk away with RM50,000

SHAH ALAM, 27 Sept 2016 - Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) is looking for local developers who are interested to develop innovative mobile apps based on the three winning ideas from Phase 1 of its Digi Challenge for Change 7 (DigiCFC7) programme. Phase 2, being the development stage of the programme runs from 15 August until 21 October.

Interested developers are to choose one from the three winning ideas and build working mobile apps that can address the 3 community issues that were identified during the Ideation phase recently. The ideas are:

  • EDDY: A Sign Language Edugame - an app with assistive technology for hearing impaired and mute children via edugames
  • Good People Today - an app that crowdsources funds to assist patients in need of financial support especially for complex medical procedures
  • Food Ninja - an app that can help to reduce food waste by outsourcing unconsumed food to relevant beneficial parties and businesses

The participating developers will have the opportunity to get experts' feedback and relevant technical input at a special Demo Day event to be held in early October. They will then need to submit their mobile apps by 21 October 2016, after which shortlisted developer teams will be invited to pitch to a panel of judges. Three (3) finalists will be chosen to move on to the Proof of Concept phase whereby for a month, they will need to validate the feasibility and impact of implementing their mobile apps in their chosen communities or beneficiary groups.
