DiGi won the Highest Excellence Award at the Europa Awards 2011

Shah Alam, 9 March 2012: DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (DiGi) was awarded the Highest Excellence Award by a European investor in Malaysia at the Europa Awards 2011 recently. Telenor, with more than 155 years telecoms experience, is the single largest shareholder in DiGi and Norway's largest investor in Malaysia.

Organized by the EU-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EUMCCI), the award was given to a European Company who has invested in Malaysia and shown exemplary business excellence.

30 companies were shortlisted for this award category and judging took into account financial performance, innovation in business, best-in-class sustainable practises and attractive employment policies.

DiGi's Director of Corporate Affairs Zaiton Hj Idrus who represented the Company at the awards ceremony said, "DiGi is part of the Telenor global network which is one of the leading mobile operators in the world with over 140 million mobile subscriptions. Telenor has mobile operations in 11 markets in Europe and Asia.

"Being part of this global network allows us to tap on best practises in various areas of the business, benefit from global initiatives and transfer of knowledge and technology for Malaysia in general and our people in particular. We will continue to leverage on this expertise to support the government's aspiration for a connected Malaysia," added Zaiton.
