SHAH ALAM, 24 January 2007: Deputy Prime Minister Y.A.B. Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak declared open the new DiGi.Com Berhad head office tonight, ushering in a new office concept.
True to DiGi's Daring, Different and Dynamic attitude, Dato' Sri Mohd Najib, signed his name on a "floating" work desk that was suspended from the ceiling.
DiGi Chief Executive Officer Morten Lundal said, "The floating work desk symbolises the freedom of mobility that wireless technology gives us. It captures the essence of our open office where we have open spaces, no permanent desks and no fixed lines. We can sit anywhere within practicality."
Lundal said, "D' House represents us and all our aspirations. It showcases the DiGi spirit of living the brand values of innovation, simplicity and best values. There is full alignment between everything you see and the way we are."
DiGi celebrated the opening with a night of entertainment for 100 key government officials and industry heads who were also taken on a tour of D' House.
Lundal turned entertainer when he strummed the guitar with Adibah Noor singing "Time to Change", a song he wrote and dedicated to the DiGi spirit.
In his dinner speech, DiGi Chairman Arve Johansen said, "What makes DiGi successful is our investment in human capital development. There is nothing more valuable than the people in the company."
Johansen added, "We designed D' House to create the right atmosphere and environment to inspire our people to give their very best. The money invested in D' House is money well spent as our people are our main differentiator."
Sitting on a 3-hectare site in Subang Hi-Tech Industrial Park, D' House has a built-up area of 30,194 sq metres to accommodate 1,000 employees. Another 700 employees are stationed in offices throughout the country.
