Explosive performances expected from Beast, 4Minute & G.Na
Unique music experiences for DiGi customers to interact with artistes

KUALA LUMPUR, 13 JANUARY 2011: DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd ("DiGi") is kicking off the New Year in style through its expanded music proposition into Korean pop music. In collaboration with Universal Music Malaysia, DiGi is hosting the first K-pop party in Malaysia with three top Korean acts performing live at Stadium Negara tonight.

Exclusive to DiGi customers only, DiGi Live K-pop Party 2011 is headlined by six-member boy band, Beast, five-girl group, 4Minute and solo artiste, G.Na, performing their respective top singles at the first all-Korean act party in the country. All three bands arrived straight from Seoul the evening before with a packed schedule the minute they touched down on Malaysian soil.

Unique music experiences were also lined up for over 150 lucky DiGi customers who won once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to meet their Korean idols. Exclusive slots were given to customers to be part of the Welcome and Farewell Troupes as well as a TV show recording, where the artistes will be demonstrating their dance moves.

Said Head of Segment Marketing at DiGi, Moharmustaqeem Mohammed, said, "For us at DiGi, we felt it was very important to engage our customers differently by creating an added dimension to their music experience and enjoyment. That's why for this K-pop party, our customers get to enjoy bundled packages that included party passes, a 30-day free trial of DiGiMusic Pluz service, mobile content of all three Korean artistes, special discounts on the artistes' albums and official merchandise.

"By working closely with our partners, we are also making our customers the envy of all K-pop fans everywhere through exclusive experiences that allow them to be near their music idols beyond the usual meet and greet sessions. Our customers will have more opportunities to enjoy such unique experiences as long as they continue to subscribe to our DiGiMusic Pluz mobile service."

Loan Cheong, General Manager of Universal Music Malaysia, added, "Living up to DiGi's promise of being different and making it relevant to their customers, we have tailored the K-pop party to incorporate three award-winning K-pop artistes, instead of just one, for this music extravaganza.

"It will be the first of its kind in Malaysia and I'm sure the fans will enjoy immensely the fantastic performances by all three groups at the party. I am confident that this will help put Malaysia on the map as a prime destination for Korean artistes in the near future."

The K-pop party is starting at 8.00 pm with each artiste expected to take the stage for about 40 minutes. Fans can expect to be entertained with heart-stomping performances of the artistes' hit singles from their album releases, including Beautiful by Beast, I My Me Mine by 4Minute, and Supa Solo by G.Na.

DiGiMusic Pluz is available at a usual monthly fee of RM5 for the first ten MP3 songs downloaded and RM1 for each subsequent song.

A favourite among Malaysians, the six-member boy band, Beast, is in Malaysia for the second time to be part of the DiGi Live K-pop Party 2011. The band, comprising Yoon Doo Joon, Jang Hyun Seung, Yong Jun Hyung, Yang Yo Sub, Lee Ki Kwang and Son Dong Woon, made their debut in 2009 and went on to win Best Newcomer Award at the 19th Seoul Music Awards in February 2010. They released their fourth and latest mini album, Lights Go On Again late last year with the main track, Beautiful debuted at No. 1 on the Korean music chart.

The five-member girl band, 4Minute, took home the Newcomer Award 2010 recently at the 16th Korea Entertainment Arts Awards and was voted Asia Influential Artist Award at the 2010 Asia Song Festival. Comprising Nam Ji Hyun, Heo Ga Yoon, Jeon Ji Yoon, Kim HyunA and Kwon So Hyun, 4Minute's hit singles include Muzik, I My Me Mine, and First/Dreams Come True.

Gina Choi or better known by her stage name, G.Na, has collaborated with Beast and RAIN on her singles, I'll Back Off So You Can Live and Things I Want To Do When I Have A Lover respectively. She just released her debut album, Draw G's First Breath with the hit single, Supa Solo. She was also the award winner of Mnet M! Countdown in August 2010, a Korean billboard ranking chart.
