GeGeRiuh Carnival returns to Kota Bharu
More exciting and fun-filled activities

KOTA BHARU, 15 August 2008: For the third consecutive year, DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd ("DiGi") is proud to bring DiGi GeGeRiuh carnival to the Kelantenese. The carnival is held in conjunction with DiGi's Kota Bharu Edition Prepaid Pack that was launched by YM Tengku Amalin A’Ishah Puteri binti Sultan Ismail Petra recently.

DiGi's Kota Bharu Prepaid edition pack is a customised prepaid package that offers subscribers a low rate of RM0.25 per minute for calls made from Kota Bharu to all networks at anytime. This special pack comes with an extended validity of 60 days for RM30 and 120 days for RM50.

"This carnival is one of the ways for us to continuously engage consumers with DiGi's brand as well as to reinforce our presence in the market. We are very excited to bring DiGi GeGeRiuh, which promises fun and excitement to all our loyal customers and supporters here in Kelantan," said Koay Chee Keong, DiGi's Head of Segments.

This year's DiGi GeGeRiuh will feature exciting, non-stop and fun-filled activities to the communities in Kota Bharu. Various commercial partners will be participating in the carnival, which includes public awareness showcases by the Malaysian National Anti-Drugs Agency on drug addiction related issues and the Royal Malaysian Police.

Kelantan Cardiothoracic Society will also be there to provide free heart consultation for interested DiGi customers. Moreover, in conjunction with DiGi GeGeRiuh carnival, the society is also organising a blood donation drive and "Larian Jantung Hatiku".

"We value the continuous partnerships with the Royal Malaysian Police and the National Anti-Drugs Agency as well as the support that we have received from our other partners. Engaging the community through DiGi GeGeRiuh is just one of many initiatives that we do to support the government's efforts for nation building as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle," Koay added.

Visitors to the carnival will have a chance to take part in "3-on-3 DiGi GeGeRiuh! Street Soccer Championship", make-over contests, coloring contests and try their hands at making local handicrafts. There will also be opportunities for DiGi customers to meet the nation's top celebrities like Jehan Miskin, Farid Kamil, Diddy and Azizi, up close and personal at DiGi Superstars corner.

The highlight of DiGi GeGeRiuh is the GeGeRiuh concert to be held on the second night of the carnival, featuring Malaysian top male artistes like Raihan, Rabbani, Zainal Abidin, Jay Jay and Diddy.

"DiGi GeGeRIuh is also about bringing the best of Malaysian entertainment to our customers. It is our way to show our appreciation for their continuous support. It's also a platform for DiGi to support our local artistes by enabling them to reach out and be closer to their fans," Koay added.

Other DiGi partners who will be at the event giving out special offers to DiGi subscribers are Aura Seri, Ayamas, Courts Mammoth, KFC, Permanis, Pizza Hut, and Silky Girl.
