New partners and bigger prizes for DiGi WWWOW Internet for All Awards 2012
Over RM200,000 in prizes await Malaysia's most inspiring online innovators

Shah Alam, 24 March 2012: For the second year running, DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd ("DiGi") is organizing the highly popular DiGi WWWOW Internet For All Awards 2012, recognising Malaysia's top talents in social media, digital content and web commerce. This year's awards will run from 24 March - 27 May, which boasts many new categories, many more partners and even bigger prizes.

In addition to returning collaborators from DiGi WWWOW Awards 2011 (ASTRO, Era.fm, Hitz.fm, Google, Exabytes Lowyat.net, MSN, Mudah.my, Nuffnang bloggers, Says.my, and Yahoo!), this year's awards have secured the support of PEMANDU and seven (7) new partners, namely AirAsia X, Samsung Malaysia Electronics, Chartis Insurance, DiGi Simple MasterCard, InMobi, Innity and Malaysiakini.

A new theme of 'Inspire', new partners, new (bigger) prizes and new award categories were unveiled today at the official launch of DiGi WWWOW Internet For All Awards by Sulin Lau, Head of Marketing Services in DiGi. More than 200 participants of the 2011 awards, representatives from partner brands, leading Malaysian bloggers and other social media innovators attended the launch to share their personal experiences and tips for online success.

In total, 16 award categories were revealed for DiGi WWWOW Internet For All Awards 2012:

  12. Yahoo! Social Media Gathering of The Year 2012
  13. Mudah.my Most Promising Webpreneur of the Year 2012
  14. Samsung App of the Year Award 2012

"These days, we can safely say there are very few areas of Malaysian life that the Internet has not touched in some way. So this year, we set out to achieve two things: firstly, expand WWWOW categories to reflect the diversity of online innovation - from commerce and creativity to community and culture. Secondly, we wanted WWWOW to accelerate cross-pollination, or harness the power of innovation in one area to inspire ideas in another. That's why we have designed the new wwwow.my site to be a fountain of inspiration for Malaysians, by Malaysians," explained Sulin.

"Last year, over 230,000 votes were cast for nearly 6000 websites, blogs, shops, videos, innovators and personalities. With the introduction of new diverse categories such as Mobile Short Film, App of the Year and Webpreneur of the Year; and the amazing prizes this year, we hope DiGi WWWOW Internet for All Awards 2012 can be said to truly represent digital ingenuity and creativity of Malaysians from all different walks of life."

Submission of entries for the 2012 DiGi WWWOW Awards is open from 24 March to 22 April 2012. Just like last year, the public will have a say in all categories, except for The Best of the Best category, which will be decided by the panel judges that include leading industry authorities. Public voting will take place from 23 April to 13 May 2012. Winners of all 16 categories will be unveiled in June 2012. Prices include flight tickets, smart devices, pre-loaded debit cards and many more worth over RM200,000.

Penaja baru serta hadiah lumayan di Anugerah DiGi WWWOW Internet for All Awards 2012
Ganjaran lebih RM200,000 menanti tokoh Internet paling berbakat di Malaysia

Shah Alam, 24 March 2012: Untuk tahun kedua berturut-turut, DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd ("DiGi") menganjurkan anugerah popular DiGi WWWOW Internet For All Awards 2012 bagi meraikan bakat-bakat dari seluruh tanahair dalam bidang media sosial, kandungan digital dan e-dagang. Pertandingan tahun ini akan berlangsung dari 24 Mac - 27 Mei dan akan menampilkan beberapa kategori dan penaja baru serta hadiah yang lebih lumayan.

Di samping penaja tahun lepas (ASTRO, Era.fm, Hitz.fm, Google, Exabytes Lowyat.net, MSN, Mudah.my, Nuffnang bloggers, Says.my dan Yahoo!), anugerah tahun ini berjaya meraih sokongan tujuh (7) penaja baru iaitu AirAsia X, Samsung Malaysia Electronics, Chartis Insurance, DiGi Simple MasterCard, InMobi, Innity dan Malaysiakini.

Dengan tema baru "Ilham" serta penaja, hadiah dan kategori baru, DiGi WWWOW Internet For All Awards 2012 telah dilancarkan hari ini oleh Sulin Lau, Ketua Bahagian Khidmat Pemasaran DiGi. Lebih 200 orang peserta dari pertandingan tahun lepas, wakil penaja, blogger-blogger terkemuka tanahair dan tokoh media sosial hadir di majlis tersebut bagi berkongsi pengalaman dan tips untuk berjaya di Internet.

"Kebelakangan ini boleh dikatakan hampir kesemua aspek kehidupan di Malaysia telah mendapat sentuhan Internet. Bagi anugerah tahun ini, kami ingin mencapai dua perkara: pertama, memperluaskan kategori WWWOW bagi memperlihatkan kepelbagaian inovasi Internet - dari bisnes dan kreativiti hingga ke komuniti dan budaya. Kedua, kami ingin agar WWWOW mempercepatkan proses 'pendebungaan silang' iaitu menggunakan inovasi dalam satu bidang bagi mencetuskan idea baru yang innovatif di bidang yang lain. Itulah sebabnya laman web wwwow.my yang baru telah direka khas untuk menjadi sumber inspirasi bagi seluruh rakyat Malaysia," jelas Sulin.

"Tahun lepas, kami menerima lebih dari 230,000 undian untuk hampir 6,000 laman web, blog, kedai online, video, innovators serta personality yang bertanding. Tahun ini, dengan pengenalan kategori-kategori baru seperti "Mobile Short Film", "App of the Year" dan "Webpreneur of the Year" serta hadiah-hadiah yang cukup lumayan yang ditawarkan, kami berharap DiGi WWWOW Internet for All Awards 2012 mampu untuk menjadi kayu ukur kepada kreativiti and kepintaran semua lapisan rakyat Malaysia dalam bidang digital."

Penyertaan bagi DiGi WWWOW Awards 2012 akan dibuka mulai 24 Mac hingga 22 April 2012. Seperti tahun lepas, semua yang berminat boleh mengundi untuk kesemua kategori yang mereka minati kecuali "The Best of the Best", yang akan ditentukan oleh panel hakim yang turut menampilkan personaliti-personaliti Internet terkemuka. Undian terbuka akan berlangsung dari 23 April hingga 13 Mei 2012.

Pemenang-pemenang bagi kesemua 16 kategori akan diumumkan pada bulan Jun 2012. Hadiah yang ditawarkan termasuk tiket penerbangan, gajet pintar, kad debit prabayar dan banyak lagi hadiah lain dengan keseluruhannya berjumlah RM200,000.

2012 DiGi WWWOW Awards报名日期从2012年3月24日一直到4月22日。跟去年一样的是，网友将有机会参加票选，除了将由包括业界主管在内的评审团决定的The Best of the Best类组。开放网友票选将从2012年4月23日至5月13日。所有16个类组优胜者名单将在2012年6月公佈。奖品包括机票、智慧型电话、预储值签帐卡及许许多多总值超过20万令吉的奖品。
