Seventeen Malaysian journalists short-listed as finalists for DiGi Journalist of the Year Award 2004

Shah Alam, 20 April 2005 - Seventeen Malaysian journalists who report on the trends and issues of the telecommunications industry and related technology, have been short-listed as finalists for the prestigious DiGi Journalist of the Year Award 2004. This year's award saw more than 100 entries for five categories.

The short-listed entries will go through a final round of judging by a panel of experienced and distinguished judges. The DiGi Journalist of the Year Award 2004 winners will be announced in a grand prize giving ceremony, scheduled to be held sometime in May 2005.

According to DiGi's Head of Corporate Communications, Jennifer Nelson-Sidhu, it was good to note the overwhelming response and the quality of articles reflecting a high standard of reporting of the telco industry while reinforcing the level of ethics maintained by the members of the media.

"Through the power wielded with the pen, journalists have been able to communicate critical information on the latest telecommunications issues, market trends and technological developments and the DiGi Journalist of the Year Award recognizes and honours journalistic excellence as well as accurate and constructive reporting in the field of telecommunications technology," added Ms Nelson-Sidhu.
