Winning team beat out 31 others at the finale and took home RM100,000 cash prize

SUBANG JAYA, 10 November 2018 - After a three-month long nationwide search to find the top futsal team in the country, Mozai FT from Pahang beat the odds and outplayed the other 31 teams to take back the title of Raja Futsal 2018 and RM100,000 in cash, the biggest cash prize offered for a Malaysian futsal competition to date.

Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) Chief Marketing Officer, Loh Keh Jiat together with Vivo Technologies Sdn Bhd's Key Account Manager, Alan Bong; CEO of Great Eastern Life Malaysia, Dato Koh Yaw Hui; Etika Beverages Sdn Bhd's Vice President-Marketing, Santharuban Thurai Sundaram; Puma Malaysia’s representative, Benjamin Lim and ERA’s Content Manager, Dhan Andreas were on hand to present the grand prize to the winning teams at the grand finale event held at Kompleks Sukan Negara Panasonic, Shah Alam, last weekend.

The crowd cheered hard and strong during the nail-biting finale, which saw Mozai FT displaying strong skills on the court by defeating TJJ FC and emerged victorious. TJJ FC walked away with RM20,000 in cash prize, and Bertam Ulu as well as Jerro Tornado who jointly won third placing took home RM2,500 cash each.

The champions were crowned amidst an exciting day of fun-filled activities which saw more than 3,000 visitors join in the fun by participating in coaching clinics by football personalities such as Safee Sali, Normala Yusoff and Siti Suhaila; a FIFA 19 Fastest Goal Challenge as well as a local brand bazaar by Propaganda Fest. Celebrities such as Aizat Amdan, Caprice & Giler Battle Crew and Genji Busker entertained the crowd at the Digi Booth and visitors also spent their time at various engagement booths by partners present at the Raja Futsal Finale 2018 event.

Raja Futsal kick-started its first match end of July with state qualifiers in 14 futsal centres nationwide. The competition was opened to Malaysians aged 18 to 30 and saw the participation of 860 teams with over 5,000 players.
