Digi giving RM1 million worth of prizes as part of 20th anniversary

SHAH ALAM, 1 May 2015 -As part of its 20th year anniversary celebrations in May, Digi Telecommunication Sdn Bhd (Digi) is rewarding its prepaid customers with smartphones, tablets and cars throughout the month. Customers who reload their prepaid credit from 1 to 31 May stand to win prizes including 20 smartphones a day, 200 tablet devices a week and, for the grand prizes, 2 Ford Rangers.
To win, customers simply need to reload credit and, if chosen, answer a question to land themselves one of the prizes. Prizes are not limited to one per winner and customers can reload as many times as they want to participate.
"We're happy to celebrate our 20th year with our customers. This contest is just one of the ways we would like to show our appreciation for our customers' loyalty by rewarding them with great prizes," said Christian Thrane, Digi's chief marketing officer (CMO).
"Twenty years is a short time for a business to grow to the size we are at now. We have come a long way, from about 150,000 customers back in 1997 to nearly 11.7 million customers today and this is down to Digi offering the best value in voice and internet services at the most affordable prices over the years," he added.

The company has vastly improved its network, now covering 87% of populated areas with its 3G network while expanding its 4G LTE footprint to serve 33% of populated areas at the end of Q1 2015. Today, Digi is the fastest growing LTE network in the country.
The company did a brand refresh earlier this year which refocused its brand strategy towards bringing more innovative data-centric solutions for customers by driving ahead the innovation agenda with more affordable call and internet plans, competitive smart device bundles and plans as well as innovative digital service offerings through strategic partnerships.
According to Thrane, the Digi prepaid reload and win contest is just one in a series of surprises and rewards for customers this month.
