RM1,000 every hour, every day for 52 days in conjunction with Merdeka
DiGi's Seribu Sejamâ„¢ contest with over RM1.7 million cash prizes

SHAH ALAM, 1 SEPTEMBER 2009: DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd ("DiGi") today announced the most lucrative contest in Malaysia with cash prizes amounting to RM1.748 million in conjunction with the country's 52nd year of celebrating Hari Kebangsaan.

RM1,000 in cash will be given away every hour of the day for 52 consecutive days to DiGi customers who correctly answer questions about Malaysia in the Seribu Sejamâ„¢ contest. A wide range of questions has been lined up, covering the country's rich history as well as its cultural, natural and built heritage.

With the contest running from 1 September to 22 October 2009, customers will stand a chance to win by simply signing up a new DiGi postpaid line or reloading at least RM30 on their DiGi prepaid line during the contest period.

Three participating radio stations will call selected DiGi customers to find 24 daily winners of RM1,000 each, who need to correctly answer one fact about Malaysia. Out of all the daily winners, 52 people will emerge as finalists throughout the contest if they successfully answer a second Malaysia trivia question. These finalists will then participate in the Grand Finale to win up to RM500,000 on 2 November 2009.

On the reasons behind this unique contest, DiGi's Chief Executive Officer, Johan Dennelind, explained: " '1Malaysia' is no stranger to us at DiGi as diversity and unity are key in our management teams and in our people as these elements add dynamism, strength and purpose in all we do. Being DiGi, we want to do something more than just placing Merdeka ads. We want to promote '1Malaysia' by highlighting the nation's rich history of its multi-cultural and multi-ethnic society creatively.

"This Seribu Sejam contest is our way of capturing the attention of Malaysians and creating a sense of pride and even, curiosity about the many great wonders of this country and its colourful history. By injecting lots of fun and incentives, I'm sure we can drive home the '1Malaysia' heritage more effectively to our customers."

AMP Radio Networks' Executive Director, Dato' Borhanuddin Osman, added: "AMP is really excited about running this contest with DiGi. It is a first of its kind with its breadth and depth of execution, and also the first time that we are running one across three different language-specific radio stations: ERA, MY FM and hitz.fm. Even the way we are administering the contest is different as we are not dividing the qualified contestants by their preferred language; instead, a Malay-speaking customer may receive a call from MY FM to answer the contest questions.

"We are proud to be a partner in this groundbreaking venture as it is seen to be one of the biggest radio promotion exercises AMP has ever done. As DiGi has strategically selected the No. 1 stations in their respective languages, we are confident the response would be fantastic."
